I just got a new pan, i've used it a few time but i just read and found out that i need to season it. I also read that some modern ones come pre seasoned but how do i tell? The pan i got is a 9.5 Berndes basic.
Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Cookware
Bare cast iron cookware must be seasoned before you use it. Pre seasoning is a process where a combination of oil and heat is used to coat the cookware so that it will be at its best for long term use and will provide a non-stick surface for cooking.
Seasoning is not excessively difficult, but some people do not want to have to go through that process in order to begin using their pans.
