How Can We Get This Lid Off The Cast Iron Pan?

My mom was frying some food in a cast iron pan and put a glass lid on top, i don't know for how long, but now she can't get the lid off. It's sealed shut. It has been 3 hours and still cant get it off.
Warm the pan back up. Maybe with the cooling of the cast iron it may have shrunk and or cause a vacuum.
the glass most likely melted to the pan and the only way to get it off is to heat up the pan again and using something flat and strong try and pry the lid off
