I just bought a porcelain-coated cast iron grill pan, and it didn't come with care instructions. I have a few concerns:
1. Because it is coated, do i still season it?
2. Can I use it in the oven to bake and broil?
3. Is it necessary that I preheat the pan in the oven prior to
using it on the stove top?
4. Whats the best way to clean the pan after use?
I'm clueless and I want to take good care of it. Thanks!

    Porcelain or enameled?
For example, Le Creuset is a good product that is enameled.
However, for care of your cookware, I would think it would be very similar.
Check out the website below for care instructions.http://www.lecreuset.com/usa/products/ca…
    1. Do not need to season.
    2. You can use in the oven.
    3. Preheat? Well… you do heat up any pan before adding oil.
    4. Soft pad and soap. Soak if stains are stubborn.

  • No, yes,no, Soap and water.Respectively.

No seasoning, you just pour oil in it, and get frying. I preheat my pans with oil in them, and just toss stuff into it. You do not have to preheat it in the oven, at all. You can use it in the oven to bake and broil, just unscrew the wooden handle, if it has one.
You wash it like a plate, but DO NOT USE BLEACH OR PRODUCTS CONTAINING BLEACH. They will ruin the surface of the pan by eating through the glaze.
