Can Vintage Cast Iron Enameled Cast Iron Or Go From Frig/freezer To Gas Rangetop Or Oven?

does anyone know if:
• vintage cast iron like griswold or wagner ware, or
• enameled cast iron like le creuset, staub or descoware
can go straight from refrigerator or freezer:
• onto a gas range top, or
• into an oven, or
• under a broiler?
thanks for any help as i'm starting to build a small vintage cookware collection! :-)

  • Not the enameled. And not healthy for the cast iron to do either. Iron expands with heat and holds some food juice (and bacteria) in the pan.
But good old Corningware and pyrex is able to do this with no harm to you and your family. (just not on the stove top) And NEVER use anything Aluminum at all.

Cast iron can, but enameled iron will shatter if the temperature changes to quickly.
